As co-founders, Brooke & I, have shared similar struggles and breakthroughs in our lives that have shaped the way we approach health and wellness. We've both faced the intense pressures of overwork, burnout, and the tolls that modern life can take on the body and mind.
In 2019, I used the copper IUD as a method of birth control and faced a barrage of symptoms including cystic acne, 10kg weight gain, panic attacks, depression and constant exhaustion. Doctors dismissed my concerns, and I was left with prescription after prescription to address symptoms rather than the root cause. It wasn’t until I discovered functional mushrooms that I started to truly recover. Within three months, my skin cleared, my energy returned, the weight dropped off and my mind was back to being strong. This was a turning point, and I knew I had to share the transformative power of functional mushrooms with others.
Brooke, too, had experienced his own battles with burnout. From a high pressure career to then running and growing his own agency, his health repeatedly took second place—until things got so bad that something needed to change. I shared my functional mushroom discoveries with him and within months, he too enjoyed a complete turnaround - feeling better, sleeping better, performing better. That was when we realised: this wasn’t just personal—it was powerful. And Superoom was born.
